COLOR ALL AROUND

Illustrations by Adjoa J. Burrowes

Color All Around features 42 original cut-paper collages from picture books illustrated by Adjoa J. Burrowes and will travel to galleries and museums through out the United States through 2010. Burrowes combines her expertise as graphic designer with skillful use of collage and mixed media to create her award-winning illustrations.

The artist has illustrated dozens of books in her rich cut-paper collage style. She wrote as well as illustrated Grandma's Purple Flowers, a family story that unfolds in exuberant cut-paper figures. Burrowes gives special attention to color and texture in her art as she juxtaposes organic shapes against angular forms in the book, My Steps. In Destiny's Gift, Burrowes brilliant collage art portrays a heroic young girl motivated by her love of books.
